BERLUSCONI'S WISE VIEWS ABOUT MEDITERRANEAN LEADERS

On 4 February 2011, Mr Berlusconi, possibly well advised by his Foreign Minister for Affairs with a suave voice, asked about the situation in Egypt, stated :"I wish that there be a transition to a more democratic regime without a rupture with a president like M. Mubarak who is recognized by the entire western world, starting from the USA, as the wisest man of and the reference for the entire Middle East".
Mubarak flew out from Cairo on 11 February.

On 19 February, questioned as to whether he had been in touch with his best friend Kaddafi, he replied : "No, I did not talk to him. There is an evolving situation and therefore I do not take the liberty of disturbing anyone".
The day after, it was announced that there had been at least 220 death people, killed by Kaddafi's militia. With an evolving situation, there will be many more and only at the end of the carnage, M. Berlusconi will likely call his friend to congratulate him for being still in power.
